Filip Ekberg is a Senior Software Engineer working in the country with all the polar bears, author of a self-published C# programming book and overall in love with programming.

I want to dig into roslyn, async and see how far this books take me. Also, I would like to see what type of book one can accomplish when doing it on your own.
Love coding in C# and always looking for more inspiration how to become an even better developer.
I think I should win it because I think it’ll benefit me greatly by helping me improve my understanding of c#, which will not only help me perform better at my job, but will improve the quality of the .net applications on the market, if ever so slightly!
While I’m going into embedded systems next semester, the introduction courses used C# and I’d like to keep using it for desktop-ish things. Lacking the courses a good book like this – especially when it covers more general subjects as well – would be wonderful
Hi there! I should be the lucky winner because I have a real passion to learn more about the language and the stack on which it sits. I have only 2 years experience with C# and really want to dive into ‘why’ things happen or ‘why’ it was designed a certain way. I wasn’t encouraged to go to university and its frustrating now as I am getting older which is why I turn towards reference books in order to further my understanding of the binary universe. This book will really help grow as a developer, put my skills to good use and finally start my own company with my own software.
I want to win a copy because I love to read programming books!
I like to read and see what a fellow Swed can do!
I just recently got back into programming (10 year hiatus) after I found a solution using VBA for a problem we were having at work. I have now been tasked with finding more solutions and C# is the language I’ve chosen to tackle these problems. Google searches and sites like reddit.com have been invaluable resources in the process of helping me get back on my programming feet however I’ve been trying to find a good book to supplement my learning. I am confident that in time I will be able to further my career and do more fun things with a better understanding of C#.
Also, September 19th, the day before the draw ends, is my birthday!
The book is among not many ones that can show how can i use the primary programming language in a more effective way. From the “about book” section i guess that the book is a mix of Skeet’s “C# in depth” and Wagner’s “Effective C#”. Im willing to constantly improve skills in all and im not going to save money on this book, because using advices from it i will make much more money from work(im sure
) But why not try to win a free copy of the book from its author?..So im in, participating! By the way, thank you for the work. I know that its really difficult to write reasonable tech book.
me encanta la lectura de tecnologías
I’d love to win C# Smorgasbord as I am thoroughly interested in programming and my long term goal is to understand C# to a good level and produce a video game, amongst other software, in it.
Because I’ll share it with everyone in my company and they’ll probably want their own copy.
As an author, I think it would be great to have this book. If you think to share this book with me, please let me know.
I would like to win because I still practice the lost art of… reading. Plus, I’m cheap and like free stuff.
i am a long time lover of c# and am always looking for new material to extend my knowledge of the language
the book has some excellent reviews and i have followed your blog since 2011
As a QA Specialist, I am always interested in expanding my knowledge of languages. The company that I work for deals with C# and I believe reading this book would be a valuable learning experience for me.
I am moving from Support to Development soon, know how to program, however could use a book like this to show me what I should know.
I think above all, being able to spell smorgasbord without looking at the keyboard, puts me in a pretty good place.
After reading the content of this book, I think it’s a great book of C#. I can’t wait to reading it.
I’m a tech book translator from China. I translated several C# books into Chinese, including Jon Skeet’s C# in Depth and Andrew Troelsen’s Pro C# 2010 and the .NET 4 Platform. If the publishing house would introducing this book, I will be happy to be the translator.
Hoping to be the lucky one.:)
Just started as a C# developer in the e-gaming industry, need every bit of knowledge I can get!!
I should be the lucky winner because I will use the book to spread your knowledge to other developers that really need it.
You know I love questions, and I have many,- and I often look to good books for answers. I hope, and believe, that this book will do just that.
So send me a book, and let me spread some answers! I’ll make sure of course that when the book is used for answers I will provide a link to the book for purchase.
So it’s a win for you, for me, and even more important, for the developers that we can reach
I need all the help I can get! I watched as you have progressed with the book and even given some input on twitter (@deejay4star)!
I should be the lucky winner as then I can Frame the book and proudly show all the new C# developers that walk into my office that I know the great C# guru Filip Ekberg.
I always love different perspectives on programming and do own quite a lot of books on C# already. I would love to add your book to the list and it received fantastic reviews!
I’m a young student just looking to learn more and if you did happen to choose me as a winner this book wouldn’t go to waste. It’d go right on my desk with the rest of my references after I’ve polished through every page.
Also sharing on Twitter and FB!
I’ve started my first job as C# devleoper two months ago and I’m looking for the book to lead my way in the proffesional world.
C# Smorgasbord looks good for this job
Because i am reading your blog for a long time and gave you few reviews in twitter about this book and because i had a lot of patience do not unfollow you while you were spamming about this book long time ago before it was released. hahaha. Just kidding. Good luck with your writings man.
@botnary
I find my motivation to read latest tech books just leave me with a big pile of unread books. New authors that can inspire as well as teach a subject effectively is very rare and because of this I would be interested in you book
I’m a self taught C# dev who’s been writing code for about 4 years now. I don’t know much about the language despite having worked with it for so long. More recently i’ve become very passionate about writing code, so i’ve been looking to pick up a good C# book (as per reddit’s recommendation) but it just hasn’t been in my financials. I’ve been trying to read up on OOP and similar topics but i find it very hard to read anything on the computer for more than 10 or 15 minutes before it becomes too uncomfortable. So i was hoping to get that free copy of your book to help expedite my learning =).
Because I’d really like to have a signed copy of your book, and Amazon doesn’t sell that.
I eagerly want to explore, to improve, and to be inspired by means of the great C# smorgasbord book.
I’m really interested in this book after reading the review on Amazon and the Table of contents. I’m particularly interested in the new stuff (Roslyn, async/await), but I think the book offers many other gems, like @hmemcpy mentioned in his tweet: https://twitter.com/hmemcpy/statuses/234598352329777152
Because Filip finds me sexy
I would like to win a copy because I’m a recovering java addict looking to learn some of the more advanced and interesting parts of C#. The book sounds like a great resource!
Pingback: The winner(s) are....
because it looks pretty and would look good on my shelf.. really because I really want a good c# book as the one i have is v old now and i cant afford to buy anything better!
